AAUA Students Converts a Petrol Bike to Electrical Rechargeable Bike
In a bid to contribute to the fight against air pollution, and promote environmental sustainability, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Physics and electronics Students took it upon themselves to convert a traditional petrol motor bike to an electrical bike as the final year project.
With a strong desire to make transportation more sustainable and cost-effective. Petrol-powered bikes, though popular and efficient, contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. With rising fuel costs and environmental concerns, alternatives like electric vehicles have become a critical need.
The project was successfully executed by a dedicated team including Abdulazeez Uthman Alabi, Adejoro Glory Isaac, Odetokun Opeyemi oluwatosin, Adejunmobi David Ademola, Aladesanmi Emmanuel, Olaniyi Eniola, under the supervision of Dr. Mrs. T.Y Ojebisi, whose guidance was instrumental in converting the petrol-powered bike into an electric rechargeable bike.
For the AAUA physics and electronics students, converting a bike to electric was a chance to showcase that practical, affordable solutions to environmental problems are achievable—even on a student budget. They aimed to create a vehicle that runs on cleaner energy, lowers operational costs, and supports the global shift towards electric mobility.
This is beyond an academic project, their work symbolizes the innovative spirit of Nigerian youth, taking on real-world issues and crafting solutions that align with sustainable development goals.
Their project has not only showcased the technical prowess of AAUA students but also shone a spotlight on the possibilities of sustainable, clean energy. This conversion isn’t just a cool feat; it’s a bold step towards transforming Nigeria’s dependence on petrol and a response to global calls for a green energy transition.
The AAUA students’ electric bike conversion marks a significant step forward in Nigeria’s pursuit of sustainable energy solutions. Their project shows the power of homegrown innovation and serves as an example of what can be achieved with dedication and vision.
